First Amendment Days: Feast on the First
Free food, fun and festivities of the five freedoms. Faculty and students will lend their (lack of) artistic skills to draw pets (badly), with an accompanying fundraiser for the Story County Animal Shelter. Free T-shirts will be available, along with food prepared by student group Block and Bridle. A First Amendment Days event.

Distinguished Awards Ceremony
The university's highest awards to alumni and friends will be presented, with a reception immediately following the ceremony.
Fashion's Night Out
Celebrate on the eve of the Fashion Show with dinner, drinks, party favors, photo opportunities, and more. The night will end with an award ceremony for designers. Formal attire is requested.

Oberhauser, professor in the sociology and criminal justice department, will retire from the university on May 15.

Franke, a professor of kinesiology, will retire from Iowa State on June 30.
