In this hands-on Blackboard Learn workshop you will learn how to create online tests, quizzes, and surveys and learn how to use them effectively within your BbLearn course. You will also learn how to view quiz results, grade, and provide student feedback online or set your quiz to grade and provide feedback automatically.

Panopto offers a rich set of features for both faculty and students that allows classroom recordings and gives instructors the ability to create rich media resources right from their desks. This workshop will cover the basics of how to use Panopto to record classroom and office presentations for student learning.

Workshop: Monitoring Student Learning in Blackboard Learn
This workshop is designed to introduce the monitoring functions of your Blackboard Learn course for understanding student learning. You will see a demonstration and become familiar with the benefits and logistics of the early warning system, course reports, item review statuses, item selective releases, Grade Center's smart views and color-coding.
Workshop: Using the Assignment Tool in Blackboard Learn
Create and set up assignments in this hands-on workshop, so students can submit assignments online in your Blackboard Learn course. This tool makes it easy to keep homework organized, monitor submission status, view and grade assignments, provide written feedback, and even download the files if desired. Additionally, Iowa State University has licensed the SafeAssign, a free plagiarism detection tool integrated within your Blackboard course.

Are you interested in learning how to engage your students? Have you used Clickers in your course? You will learn the technical, logistical and pedagogical aspects of engaging students and quickly assessing their understanding or viewpoints with TurningPoint (TP), a centrally supported student response system. You will also explore the New TurningPoint 5 interface for polling in PowerPoint, polling in any application and self-paced polling.

The training will address youth-related policies, procedures and forms that must be completed to conduct youth programs at Iowa State.
