Great Plants for Iowa
"Annuals - The Basics" Great Plants for Iowa series will allow participants to develop knowledge of the wide variety of garden plants that grow well in Central Iowa. Covering nearly 500 plants, these 16 classes are spread across several years. Each class focuses on identification, cultural requirements, and the use of the plants in gardens and the broader landscape.
Re-Upholstery
Fix up an old stool or simple chair and customize it for your space. Dan will work with students on how to deconstruct and then reconstruct your piece including choosing the correct fabric. Note this is a very basic class - no sofas, armchairs, etc.
Embroidery Class
After you learn the basic stitches for embroidery you can add design and personalization to anything made from fabric. Practice on your choice of a tote bag, waist apron or tea towel. Choose from traditional to modern designs, or create your own!

Kid's Story Time
Each session features a theme with two or three books read aloud followed by a related craft or activity. The books, crafts and activities are intended for children ages two to seven years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Intermediate Photoshop
Build on your basic understanding of Photoshop to learn new processes and techniques. This class will cover things like adjustment layers, filters, color adjustment, layer effects, and blending modes as well as other more advanced tools. Participants should have a basic understanding of some Photoshop tools and their functions.
Shiara's Belly Dance Challenge Class
Condition your body and train your brain with this series of belly dance games and challenges designed to help you advance your dance technique! So much fun, you'll forget that you're learning! (Open to any skill level as long as you have completed a beginning class)

Part of our summer series of weekly Paint Your Own Pottery techniques led by area artists. "Painting" bisque is a fun and relaxing way to spend an evening. Whether your drink of choice is a tall glass of lemonade or a slushy margarita, decorate a set of glasses for your next patio gathering. Beth will show you how to use color and design elements to make a set that matches but isn't identical.

Summer Session I ends.
Plant Pals
Join us and cultivate a garden at Reiman Gardens. We are going to grow huge vegetables like giant pumpkins, tomatoes and sunflowers, as well as beautiful flowers. Each session has hands-on activities to interact with all the wonderful plants that we enjoy and eat. Classes are great for kids of all ages to participate in with an adult. $2 for members. $6 for the general public. Iowa State University students pay 15% off member price.
Dance social
Free dance social hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Singles welcome. Dress is casual; indoor shoes or socks are required.
