Iowa Local Housing Trust Fund Summit
At this one-day summit, cosponsored by the ISU Department of Community & Regional Planning and the Iowa Finance Authority, CRP faculty and staff will present findings from an ongoing study of local housing trust funds (LHTFs) in Iowa. They will provide an overview of the funds' daily operations and highlight practices that can improve the impact of the funds on the availability of affordable housing across the state.
Watercolors in the Garden: The figure in the landscape
Join Jo Myers-Walker of the Left Bank Studio in Gilbert, Iowa as she teaches a series of ten classes on watercolors while being inspired by the surrounding gardens. Classes will focus on the figure in the landscape taking inspiration from tree and bonsai. Participants will get to showcase their art during the Bonsai Show on Saturday, October 8th. All skill levels welcome.
Kids Story Time
This year we've been hosting Kids' Story Time every two weeks, from April to September. If you haven't already attended, please join us. Each session features a theme with two or three books read aloud followed by a related craft or activity. The books, crafts and activities are intended for children ages two to seven years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tuesday Tea at the Farm House Museum - Victorian Games
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation about all things Farm House. Mark your calendar from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. Hector Avalos is a professor of religious studies at Iowa State University whose books include The End of Biblical Studies and Fighting Words: The Origins of Religious Violence. He received a Master of Theological Studies from the Harvard Divinity School and a doctorate in biblical studies at Harvard.

Architect and educator Francesco M. Mancini, a faculty lecturer with the ISU College of Design's Rome Program, will present a case study of "buildings for spectacle," particularly those designed for musical performance from 1990 to present, with a focus on technology's impact on design and construction.
