Graduating Seniors for Summer 2010 or Fall 2010
Seniors graduating Summer 2010 or Fall 2010 should submit a Graduation Application to the Registrar's Graduation Office, 210 Enrollment Services Center, after registering for final course work. Applications are available from advisers or the Registrar's Graduation Office.

Films: Big River and King Corn
"Big River" is a follow-up to the Peabody Award winning documentary "King Corn." In "Big River," the filmmakers return to Iowa to investigate the environmental impact of corn production. A discussion with the filmmaker will be held during the Sustainable Agriculture Colloquium on the same day (3:10-4:30 p.m., 2050 Agronomy).

Public forum: Mechanical engineering department chair finalist
David Rosen, professor and associate chair in the mechanical engineering school at Georgia Tech University, will present his vision for the department. All who are interested are welcome to attend.
Poster presentation: Research at the Capitol
Twenty students each from Iowa State and the universities of Iowa and Northern Iowa will be selected to display posters and discuss their research to legislators, reporters and top university administrators, highlighting the importance of undergraduate research.
Presentation: The Art of Becoming AWARE
David Williamson, from Ogden, Iowa, is the collaborating artist for a creative art series currently on display at Parks Library. The sculptures from this series are all created from trash collected by volunteers from Project AWARE, an annual statewide river clean-up project. The series also includes collaborative poems and songs. The artist will give a talk at 3:15pm followed by an interpretive tour of the artwork and informal discussion.

"The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds"
A single mother and her two daughters try to cope with life. One of the daughters, Tillie, prepares her experiment for the science fair involving marigolds raised from radioactive seeds, but her mother does not make it easy for her success. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this play was later adapted for film and was directed by Paul Newman and starred Joan Woodward.
Lecture: An Alternative to the War on Terror
Tom Cordaro, the author of Be Not Afraid: An Alternative to the War on Terror, has been involved with faith-based peace and justice work for over 30 years as a local, regional and national organizer. He was named as an Ambassador of Peace by Pax Christi USA, a national Catholic peace and justice organization, and he is a member of the Pax Christi Anti-Racism Team.
