Art Reception: "On the Beaten Path"

Channel: Student Activities Center

6:00 pm - 7:30 pm @ Pioneer Room at the Memorial Union

Alexis Dwyer is a print-maker, and her recent work is with cyanotypes - a photographic printing process that produces imagery in white with an indigo background. From crisp, recognizable outlines to blurred objects that seem to float on fabric, she explores discarded items as re-purposed art.

Dragoon River Romp

7:00 am - 2:00 pm @ Des Moines River-meet at Seven Oaks Recreation

The Dragoon River Romp is a river cleanup project along the Des Moines River in Boone County. Different sections of the River are cleaned each year.2017 the area from Fraser to Water Works will be cleaned.Land based volunteers can ride on buses to the different boat ramps in the county to clean up along the boat ramps.Free t-shirts and draw string backpack to all volunteers. Seven Oaks supplies the canoes and transportation to and from the river.

Relief Printmaking Workshop

12:00 pm - 3:00 pm @ The Workspace at the Memorial Union

Learn how to print with found objects and carved linoleum stamps reflecting the processes used in Alexis Dwyer's exhibit On the Beaten Path, currently on display in the Pioneer Room.

Cost: ISU $30, Public $40 - includes supplies

Local Food Festival: An Adventure in Eating
