Youth Program: Caterpillar Club
"Gettin' Buggy" If you like Kids Story Time, you'll flip for Caterpillar Club! Please join us for winter storytelling twice per month, from October to March. Each gathering features a theme as we read aloud two or three books, and wrap up with related cooperative activities and crafts great for groups and individuals alike.

The lecture will cover the current status and challenges of time series data mining methods as well as Dr. Keogh's insights into time series data mining's future development.

The Global Pandemic of Physical Inactivity: An Urgent Priority for Public Health
For nearly 30 years, Harold (Bill) Kohl has worked to promote exercise and fitness as a public health priority. He helped create the first U.S. Physical Activity Guidelines, which were published in 2008, and is an advocate for increasing physical activity among adults and children, including in K-12 school environments. Paint Your Own Pottery: Bubble Painting
This is sort of like blowing bubbles when you were a kid, but we do it with a straw and paint. The popped bubbles show up and make interesting patterns on the finished pieces.

Workshop: K-12 Computational Thinking
K-12 students will learn about computational modeling and programming with Scratch -- a free, visual programming platform developed by MIT. Workshop participants also can develop a project for the April 19 Computational Thinking Competition. Online registration is required. Lunch is included, followed by an optional Scratch workshop (1-3 p.m.).
