Training: "How to Write a P&S Position Description"
University human resources is offering training on "How to Write a Professional and Scientific Position Description" in conjunction with the new PeopleAdmin 7 system training. Anyone who writes or assists with writing position descriptions is encouraged to attend. Training is offered weekly beginning Aug. 26 through Nov. 24. To register, go to AccessPlus (Employee tab > UHR Training) and choose the class you wish to attend.
Town Hall: TIER efficiencies
The university community is invited to a discussion of the latest efficiencies (business cases) proposed for possible implementation at the state universities. The business cases spring from the state Board of Regents Transparent, Inclusive Efficiency Review (TIER).

Class: Beginner Photography
This is a four part course on Tuesdays, October 7, October 14, October 21, and October 28 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This four-part workshop will cover the basics of photography including equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students and review of the images taken.
Acrylic Painting Class
Learn basic color theory as well as painting from both life and photographs. Techniques will include monochromatic painting, full color application, and glazing. For painters of all levels.

Dan Barker is co-president of the nationally known advocacy organization Freedom From Religion Foundation. He is author of many books articles, including Maybe Yes, Maybe no: A Guide For Young Skeptics, Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist, and Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists. He is a former preacher of both Quaker and Assembly of God congregations.
