Conference: Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence
Anyone who has an interest in forensic sciences is encouraged to participate in the kick-off activities. The objective of the event is to introduce CSAFE to the scientific, forensic and law communities. This is an excellent opportunity to meet potential collaborators in academia, law and law enforcement, and industry and to hear about interesting scientific problems in forensics. Students and young scientists are encouraged to attend.

ISU ADVANCE is offering a wonderful opportunity for associate professors that are planning on going up for full professor immediately or in the near future. Four individuals, David Acker, Joe Colletti, Susan Lamont, and Elisabeth Lonergan, from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences are presenting the workshop.
Workshop: Engaging Persons with Disabilities - Research Efforts and Opportunities (Part 2)
Persons with disabilities are severely underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields of study. This group consists of an entire population of lifelong problem solvers. Engaging them in the STEM educational pipeline and the STEM workforce can be a very rewarding endeavor. Engagement can occur via the research enterprise as well as through outreach and other educational programs.

Seminar: Forest Service in Transition
"Toward a Natural Forest: The Forest Service in Transition," Jim Furnish. A 1968 ISU alum, Furnish is a consulting forester in the Washington D.C. area. He served with the USDA Forest Service for 34 years. His book and seminar discuss the evolution of Forest Service management and policy from an environmental perspective.
