CANCELED: Continuing ISU's Campus Portrait Tradition in Sculpture
Due to Hurricane Sandy and associated travel challenges, Larry Nowlan's lecture and reception for Sunday, Nov. 4, is canceled.
Performance: Candide
Candide is an innocent young man who lives in a beautiful castle and believes he is living in the best world possible and that whatever happens is for the best. When he is banished and forced to travel through the world, he discovers that he may have been mistaken. Based on the novel by Voltaire and with music by Leonard Bernstein, "Candide" is loaded with political and social satire and with music that that is effervescent and joyous.

Adaptive Interface: Light, Space and Comfort exhibition
This week-long exhibition will highlight climate change adaptation projects students developed during a five-week Berlin Summer Academy, a joint program offered by the College of Design and ars Berlin, a study-abroad program at Beuth University Berlin. The show will open with a reception and refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the Lightfoot Forum.
Exhibition reception
"Adaptive Interface: Light, Space and Comfort" features the work of eight ISU architecture students who studied in Germany. Refreshments will be served.

Led by popular singer/songwriter Chris Koza, the band has shown incredible ambition by writing, recording, and releasing four albums all within the span of one year. Known for their incredible live concerts, Rogue Valley has shared the stage with notable acts such as Spoon, Weezer, Andrew Bird, Justin Vernon, and many others.

Cabinet of Curiosities
Explore the unfamiliar, exotic, bizarre and nostalgic objects that are part of Iowa State University's academic land-grant heritage in the exhibition Cabinet of Curiosities. Exhibition curators Allison Sheridan and Jennifer Munoz will talk about the interesting history of these collections and discuss some of the most curious objects in the exhibition.

Farm House Museum Open House
Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season at the Farm House Museum. The Iowa State campus became electrified in 1884, just four years after the invention of the light bulb. Find out how lighting changed in the farm house over the years, and enjoy the display of Victorian music boxes - a recent gift to the permanent collection. Warm up with hot cider as you explore the first building on Iowa State's campus.

SUB Music: Parlours w/ Hemmingbirds
Des Moines, IA-based Parlours hasn't been around long, but the talented five-piece band has already created a ton of buzz in the Midwest region with their self-titled EP. Their song I Dream of Chicago closed the series finale for FOX show The Chicago Code and more recently, the group had two songs featured on ABC Family's The Lying Game as well as a song in the indie film Sassy Pants.
