Feed the Need Food Drive
Student Volunteer Services will be collecting canned and non-perishable food for local people in need. Food will be donated to Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA) for distribution through their food pantry.
Registration dates for Summer and Fall 2010
First day of assigned Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 registration dates for students projected as sophomores. Hours for AccessPlus registration are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and most Sundays.
Conference: IAWIND and IWEA
The 2010 IAWIND Conference will focus on technical, research and development issues including new design trends, forecasting & grid operations, improved materials and manufacturing methods, and turbine health monitoring/reliability. The IAWIND Conference will also address workforce and training issues so relevant and necessary for the wind industry.

Tuesday Tea
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation. Mark your calendar from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the Farm House in a whole new way. After tea, all are welcome to join a guided tour that will highlight different topics each week, this weeks topic is "Victorian Holidays". Reservations not required.
POSTPONED: Storm spotter training
POSTPONED (new date TBA): Severe Storm Spotter Training, presented by the National Weather Service, Des Moines. The training is especially encouraged for departments that have people working outdoors, but is open to all ISU faculty, staff and students. Training will cover a recap of the 2009 Iowa storm season, elements of storm spotting, storm safety and thunderstorm basics including lightning, cloud types and tornadoes.
CESMEE seminar
"The Creationist Down the Hall: The Extent and Impact of Teaching Evolution and Creationism in Public Schools," Randy Moore, University of Minnesota. This seminar will document the extent of creationism-based beliefs in biology classrooms, as well as recent research documenting the impact of the teaching of evolution and creationism on the views of college students.
Meeting: Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State University and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public and adjourn at 5 p.m.

To Die in Jerusalem: Documentary Film and Discussion
After two 17-year-old girls (one an Israeli, the other a Palestinian suicide bomber) die in a Jerusalem market, their mothers confront each other, revealing a microcosm of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the complexity of reconciliation. The 76-min documentary will be followed by a panel discussion with ISU political science faculty.
