Re-Upholstery
Fix up an old stool or simple chair and customize it for your space. Dan will work with students on how to deconstruct and then reconstruct your piece including choosing the correct fabric. Note this is a very basic class - no sofas, armchairs, etc.
Embroidery Class
After you learn the basic stitches for embroidery you can add design and personalization to anything made from fabric. Practice on your choice of a tote bag, waist apron or tea towel. Choose from traditional to modern designs, or create your own!

Intermediate Photoshop
Build on your basic understanding of Photoshop to learn new processes and techniques. This class will cover things like adjustment layers, filters, color adjustment, layer effects, and blending modes as well as other more advanced tools. Participants should have a basic understanding of some Photoshop tools and their functions.

Paint Your Own Pottery with Beth Weninger
Part of our summer series of weekly Paint Your Own Pottery techniques led by area artists. "Painting" bisque is a fun and relaxing way to spend an evening. Whether your drink of choice is a tall glass of lemonade or a slushy margarita, decorate a set of glasses for your next patio gathering. Beth will show you how to use color and design elements to make a set that matches but isn't identical.

Soap Making-Cold Process Class
Make quality, handmade soap from scratch. Learn the step-by-step process - from the selection of oils and fragrances and calculating lye amounts to picking out equipment. Lye safety will be emphasized (there are no pre-made synthetic bases in this class!) A messy but fun process so wear old clothing with a long-sleeved shirt. Leave class with about 1.5 pounds of soap.

"Little Dresses for Africa" Work Weekend
Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses. From cutting fabric and ironing to sewing, there is a place for anyone who has an hour or two to spare. Drop in to our community studio to help another community of children in the orphanages of Central Africa. www.littledressesforafrica.org

Glass Beads Beyond Basics: Dichroic Glass and Aventurine Class
Add some sparkle to your lampwork with two very special kinds of glass! Dichroic glass has a metallic coating; its stunning color changes when viewed from different angles. Aventurine has tiny bits of copper suspended in glass. Other techniques may be used as time permits.

Chris' illustrations mix comic book characters and pin-up girl style. He is a regular at a number of comic book conventions and his drawings sell nationally. Line drawings will be available to trace, or Chris can give you tips on line and style to create your own beer beauty.

Goat's Milk Soap Class
Milk imparts a creamy texture and mildness that is unmatched in soap made with plain water so it is great for people with skin sensitivity. We will be working with fresh goat's milk but tips about working with other milks will also be covered.
