Dr. Bowen Xiao (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) In this talk, I would like to start with the introduction to the AdS/CFT correspondence, and then briefly talk about its application to RHIC physics (energy loss and momentum broadening calculation). Then, the exact accelerating string solution of a heavy quark-antiquark pair in AdS_5 vacuum space as well as its connection with the well-known Unruh temperature is discussed.

In this talk, I would like to start with the introduction to the AdS/CFT correspondence, and then briefly talk about its application to RHIC physics (energy loss and momentum broadening calculation). Then, the exact accelerating string solution of a heavy quark-antiquark pair in AdS_5 vacuum space as well as its connection with the well-known Unruh temperature is discussed. The energy loss, momentum-broadening of the heavy quark due to acceleration are also computed using the AdS/CFT correspondence. In the end, I will show some recent work in calculating polarized structure functions in AdS/QCD model.
