I will briefly discuss the current research efforts being conducted by the ISU particle astrophysics group, including our work with the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope and the VERITAS ground-based atmospheric Cherenkov telescope array. I will then discuss the imaging atmospheric Cherenkov technique, hadronic background rejection, and the trigger simulations that I am performing for the VERITAS trigger upgrade and the proposed AGIS array.
