Cosmic-ray research, nearly a century-old field, is still principally directed at identifying the acceleration site(s) of these highly relativistic particles. In this research update talk, I will discuss the simulations I have performed and the insights gained into the process by which the most energetic cosmic rays originating in the Milky Way are thought to be produced. I will also briefly discuss work currently in progress, which will largely consist of colorful pictures and animations.
