The purpose is to ascertain the strengths and weaknesses of services that are provided to support the research enterprise in order to build an infrastructure that can effectively manage its growth. Input from faculty and staff is sought. The conveners of the session are Vice President for Research and Economic Development Sharron Quisenberry and Associate Vice President for Business and Finance Pam Cain.

Iowa State's grant and contract portfolio has grown significantly over the past two years. The goal is to reach $600 million in the next five years.

Occurring parallel to the series of listening sessions is a self-assessment of central service center activities and their perceived needs. The processes will yield a report that recommends a strategy for enhancing, streamlining and forging a research enterprise infrastructure.

Other dates in the listening session series are: June 7 (10 a.m.-noon) and Aug. 15 (9-11 a.m.), also in the MU Gallery.
