The final concert of 2011 from Jazz II features a slick arrangement of "Mack the Knife", a tune made famous by Ella Fitzgerald and her legendary memory slips. Chair of the ISU Music Department Michael Golemo contributes a quirky treatment of "Think of One" by the iconoclastic Thelonious Monk. Freshman Ria Olson makes her ISU debut with a sultry version of "Lover Man". Electric bassist Stanley Clarke wrote several folk songs, and Senior Music Education Major Rachel Petsche will assume the role with "Bass Folk Song", as recorded by Woody Herman's Thundering Heard.
