Portraits may be intimate, authoritative, exaggerated or subtle. Portraiture is a classic and timeless genre powerfully full as subject matter. This class is an introduction to portraiture and oil painting. It is for absolute beginners or those who want a refresher. You'll learn how to mix paint, prepare a canvas and model the head. A live model will be at each class as we focus on exploring composition and paint handling, while demystifying the process and becoming familiar with the materials.
Meets Wednesdays for 6 weeks.
