Garman Herigstad has worked in the feature film and broadcast advertising industry for the past 25 years, most recently as the senior technical director on "The Green Lantern" for Sony Pictures Imageworks. He will talk about making feature film effects and how students can prepare themselves for this kind of career.

Garman Herigstad received a Bachelor of Arts in art and design/advertising design in 1981 and a Master of Arts in art and design in 1985, both from Iowa State. He has worked in the feature film and broadcast advertising industry for the past 25 years. Among the movies he has been a part of are Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Day After Tomorrow and most recently, The Green Lantern. There will be plenty of time after his presentation for questions from students interested in entering the feature film visual effects business.
