Michael Clough, ISU curriculum and instruction, will give a 30-minute presentation, "The Story Behind the Science: Bringing Science and Scientists to Life in Postsecondary Science Education," followed by 30 minutes of discussion and networking. RSVPs are requested to Tracie Miller, 4-0423, Center for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Education.

With funding from the National Science Foundation, Clough created 30 historical short stories designed to teach science content and draw students' attention to the nature of science for post-secondary introductory astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology and physics courses. He'll present the project rationale, story development and structure, freely available stories at the project website, ongoing research and next steps.
