Artist Jeremiah Elbel is hosting a reception for his current exhibit "Anonymous." Meet the artist and see his recent work. This will be one of the last times to catch this show as it closes on Monday, December 4.

Elbel uses a combination of painting, drawing, and printmaking techniques to "investigate the cultural ideal of aesthetic attraction." Elbel says, "I examine the perspective of the spectator in relationship to events of great tragedy in history. Weaving layers of the technicolor spectrum and dark contrasting sepia-tones I create photorealistic renderings." Subject matter ranges from massive crowds and interrogation chambers to armed bank robbers.

Elbel is a graduate of Grand View University and has been exhibiting his work since 2004. He lives and creates in Des Moines.

The Iowa State Memorial Union is located at 2229 Lincoln Way in Ames on the ISU campus. The Pioneer Room is on the 3rd floor and double as a meeting room. For viewing times between 8am and 10pm call 515.296.6848.
