Straight from Beijing, The People's Republic of China to Ames, Iowa, the China National Symphony Orchestra is coming to present a stunning concert.

Direct from Beijing, the China National Symphony Orchestra will present a stunning program performed by an outstanding team of instrumentalists, many of whom have won prizes in national and international competitions.

Under the musical direction of Principal Guest Conductor En Shao, the program includes both Asian and Western composers, including the Yellow River Piano Concerto with pianist Mu Ye Wu. Also featured is the First Movement of Xia Guans Requiem for the Earth, written for the people of the Sichuan province following the devastating 2008 earthquake. Richard Strauss epic tone poem Ein Heldenleben will bring the performance to a powerful close.
