If architecture can be grasped only by movement in space, the central means to achieve presence, coherence and intelligibility of both the architectural object and the visitor's experience is spatial dramaturgy. Holger Kleine explores the possibilities of dramaturgical concepts in his academic teaching, writing and practical work as an architect. Architecture Advisory Council Lecture Series.

Holger Kleine explores the possibilities of dramaturgical concepts in his practical work as an architect with Kleine Metz GvAmbH in Berlin, in his theoretical writings and in his teaching studio at the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain in Wiesbaden, Germany, where he is a professor of interior architecture.

Kleine studied architecture and musicology at the Technical University of Berlin and at the Cooper Union, New York City. He has collaborated with Eisenman Architects in New York and Sauerbruch Hutton in Berlin as well as design firms in Aachen, and Monchengladbach, Germany; Barcelona; and Toulouse, France, among others. Prior to founding his own architecture firm, Kleine was an assistant professor at TU Berlin. He lectures and publishes widely.
