The Story County Master Gardener's Association (SCMGA) 2013 Spring Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Reiman Gardens' Maintenance Building in Ames - rain or shine.

Sure to satisfy your gardening needs, this unique selection of plants, many from the gardens of Master Gardeners, includes heirloom tomatoes, rhubarb, and herbs. Also available for sale will be a wide variety of perennials such as coneflowers including Ruby Star, coral bells including Ruby Bells, named Hostas, daylilies, and the 2012 and 2013 Perennial Plant of the Year(TM), Brunnera Jack Frost and Variegated Solomon's Seal. There will be hanging baskets perfect for Mother's Day and a wide assortment of nursery stock plants. Local garden artist Mary Lou Haddock will be selling her artwork. Cash or check payment is accepted. Save the date, and think spring!

Proceeds from this annual fundraising event support in full or in part: the Story County library book program focusing on garden related books to the Story County libraries, horticulture scholarships, 4-H horticulture awards, community gardens, and Reiman Gardens and Iowa Arboretum summer internships. The SCMGA, affiliated with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, returns over 2,500 volunteer hours per year within Story County. Thanks to Reiman Gardens and Party Time.
