"Let the Numbers Speak: A Review of Biofuels Production Unit Economics," Doug Williams, biofuels industry analyst and former senior business development associate at Coskata, a biofuels technology startup. A reception follows the lecture and Q&A.

Abstract:
Fuels are among the cheapest liquids on earth. They also are the largest business on earth. In order to actually make money in this business, a tight integration between core production technology and industrial scale processes is an under-appreciated necessity. This presentation will review several of the important factors that contribute to unit production cost for commercial advanced biofuels processes. In particular, the impact of production yield, feedstock sourcing and specific production facility costs will be highlighted.
