"Looks Matter: Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Signaling from Biomaterials," Tatiana Segura, University of California, Santa Barbara. Segura will focus on her research team's efforts to introduce protein-based bioactive signals, in particular vascular endothelial growth factor, into hydrogel-based scaffolds for therapeutic angiogenesis. part of the 2013-14 Chemical and Biological Engineering Graduate Seminar Series.

Tatiana Segura is an assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her team's goal is to better understand how the choice of growth factor presentation influences endothelial cell activation and ultimate therapeutic outcome.
