Award-winning faculty member Kevin Schalinske shares how he creates a comfortable atmosphere in his ~100 student biochemistry/molecular biology-rich advanced nutrition and human metabolism classes.

Techniques for asking questions that inspire rich discussion, balance both loquacious and reluctant students, and encourage active critical thinking will be presented, as well as Dr. Schalinske's unique low-stake writing assignments that help students engage with each other and relate to complex material.
