"Bug Village," with more than 85 species of arthropods on display. Activities include cooking demonstrations (11 a.m.-3 p.m.) with the "Eat-a-Bug Cookbook" author and Bug Chef David George Gordon; cockroach races, Leo Da Roachy painting, maggot art and more.

A new addition to Bug Village 2016: The Insect Zoo theater will be showing short films featuring insects -- Sweet Cocoon, Sticky and Josephine and the Roach -- throughout the day; and those watching can try some tasty insect cuisine instead of popcorn.

The Insect Zoo needs a name for its new roach race track that will debut at this event. The group will be taking suggestions for names during the races.

Insect Zoo T-shirts will be available for $15, Madagascar hissing cockroaches for $5, and limited edition Insect Zoo bumper stickers for $5.
