"From Muscatine to the World Bank" - Jim Yong Kim is the 12th President of the World Bank. Part of the College of Business CEO Series and World Affairs Series

A physician and anthropologist, Dr. Kim has dedicated himself to international development for more than two decades, helping to improve the lives of under-served populations worldwide.

He previously served as president of Dartmouth College, was a co-founder of Partners In Health and director of the HIV/AIDS Department at the World Health Organization.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, he moved with his family to the United States at the age of five and grew up in Muscatine, Iowa. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University, he earned an MD from Harvard Medical School and a PhD in anthropology from Harvard University.
