Dr. Victor Vakaryuk, Associate Editor, Phys Rev B

Abstract:

PRB is the largest journal in all of physics and the third largest in all of science. It receives around 10,000 submissions annually, which are handled by a team of 10 in-house editors. Being one of them, I will give an overview of the journal and its editorial policies and practices in a way it could be useful for the audience of both authors and referees. I will also spend some time talking about other members of the Physical Review family such as PRL and recently launched open-access journal PRX.

Bio:

Received Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Tony Leggett. Worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Argonne National Lab and at Johns Hopkins University. Research topics include exotic superconductivity, graphene and transport in nanostructures. Joined PRB in 2013.
