The seminar summarizes the evidence for the decay of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson into a bb pair when produced in association with a W or Z boson (VH) using data of proton--proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector during 2015 and 2016. An observed (expected) significance of 3.5 (3.0) standard deviation for a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV over the expected background from other SM processes is found. The talk will also explore possible Higgs -> bb searches in different production modes in future ATLAS measurements.
