Celebrate Earth Day with ISU and the Ames community. Activities include a diversity of Earth-minded engagement and empowerment opportunities, refreshments, sustainability-minded giveaways, bike tune-ups, ISU Repair Cafe, Monday Monologues and music from KURE.

ISU will celebrate Earth Day on April 22, from 10am-2pm, on the South Library Lawn. This year's theme, "Our Green Promise, Our Sustainable Future", reminds us of our collective sustainability contributions (individually, as a campus and as a community) and challenges us to make our next commitment.

ISU's celebration will feature interactive "Stay and Create" or "Take and Create" upcycling activities, the opportunity to earn sustainably-minded, greener-living prizes, cookies and fruit-infused water, music from KURE, FREE bike tune-ups from ISU Recreation Services, a bonus companion pop-up ISU Repair Cafe event (offering repair for skateboards, scooters, E-Bikes, wheelchairs, and roller skates) and the opportunity to learn from and network with representatives from campus and community organizations - committed to environmental, economic and social sustainability through missions, goals and initiatives.

Also!! Monday Monologues will be taking place alongside this year's event, 12:15-12:45pm on the steps of Parks Library and feature rotating performances by three campus groups called Conversations With the Earth, including short plays by Climate Change Theatre Action, flash fiction, poetry and prose from Creative Writing and Environment grad students, and demos by REFORM a student org that transforms plastic into musical instruments.

Don't Forget!! A non-perishable donation to The SHOP (campus student food pantry), your bike for a free tune-up and your reusable water bottle or mug for fruit-infused water (you can also earn one at the event).

ISU's Earth Day Celebration is sponsored by the Office of Sustainability and assisted by fabulous ISU student volunteers.
