The Ames Seed Library is a community resource that offers free vegetable, flower, fruit and herb seeds in order to empower people to grow their own food and build relationships through gardening. Browse seeds and attend workshops during the Ames Repair Cafe to learn more.

The Ames Seed Library is a community resource that offers free vegetable, flower, fruit and herb seeds in order to empower people to grow their own food and build relationships through gardening. The Ames Seed Library is housed in the Ames Public Library and is open year-round, with a wide variety of seeds available based on donations from community members and commercial seed companies.

As a part of the Ames Repair Cafe on April 27, the Seed Library will be open and gardening workshops will also be held in the Danfoss Room, everyone is welcome and the workshops are free - 11 am - 12:30 pm - Marshall McDaniel, soil health, and 2-3 pm - Steve Libby, composting basics.
