Lecture: The Case for American Greatness
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will speak on his new book No Apology: The Case for American Greatness. Romney was CEO of Bain & Company, a management consulting firm, and cofounder of Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm. He left the private sector to organize the 2002 Winter Olympics as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee.
Death by Alcohol: The Sam Spady Story
Brian Alley, executive director of the Sam Spady Foundation, delivers the message that alcohol can kill and provides information to empower students to use good judgment and drink responsibly.
Lecture: Engineering the Future
Jonathan Wickert, dean of ISU's College of Engineering, will speak on how today's students can become leaders for a cleaner, healthier, safer and more sustainable world. His talk is part of the Triangle Fraternity Last Lecture Series. Wickert, who has nearly 20 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, urges students to view engineering in its social context, as a creative profession that uses technology to improve people's lives.

Feed the Need Food Drive
Student Volunteer Services will be collecting canned and non-perishable food for local people in need. Food will be donated to Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA) for distribution through their food pantry.
Poverty Awareness Week - various events
March 29-April 3 marks the second annual Poverty Awareness Week at Iowa State University. Organized by EWB-ISU, the week long event gives organizations on campus a chance to come together and raise awareness of poverty and inform students of how they can become involved.
Registration dates for Summer and Fall 2010
First day of assigned Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 registration dates for students projected as juniors. Hours for AccessPlus registration are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and most Sundays.
Physics Celebration
ISU's physics and astronomy dept. marks the launch of the Large Hadron Collider's new physics program with several events: A webcast of the high-energy physics at the European Organization for Nuclear Research will be in 18 Physics Hall. A poster and a display are outside 30 Physics Hall that show live data from the ATLAS experiment. The ISU Physics and Astronomy Club will display research posters in the lower level of the Memorial Union.
Tuesday Tea
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation. Mark your calendar from 12:00 - 1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the Farm House in a whole new way. After tea, all are welcome to join a guided tour that will highlight different topics each week, this weeks topic is "Farm House Matrons". Reservations not required.

McKinney, a records analyst, is retiring from LAS Student Academic Services at the end of March. She has served in the college for more than two decades.

"The Bells of Iowa State: An Enduring Tradition," Bob Lindemeyer, retired ISU associate director for media development. Experience this multi-media history of the Iowa State University Carillon located in ISU's iconic Campanile.
Lecture: Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead
Frank Meeink speaks about his descent into America's Nazi underground and his ultimate triumph over hatred and addiction. By age 16, Meeink was one of the most notorious skinhead gang leaders on the East Coast. By 18, he was doing hard time in an Illinois prison, where he began to question his hatred, thanks in large part to his African-American teammates on a prison football league.

Public forum: Mechanical engineering department chair finalist
George Voyiadjis, distinguished professor and chair of the civil and environmental engineering department at Louisiana State University, will present his vision for the department. All who are interested are welcome to attend.
ArtWalk: New Sites & Old Favorites
This tour will focus on one of the newest additions to the collection, "A Celebration of the Iowa Prairie" by Sticks in the Maple, Willow, Larch Dining Center. The tour will also explore other public works of art in Maple Hall. Anne Clifford is the Msgr. James Supple Chair of Catholic Studies in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Iowa State. In recognition of the 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day, she will discuss Catholic eco-justice teachings, with a focus on their roots in creation theology and their call to responsibility for the environment.
Lecture: Where's the Math
Juanita Copley is the former chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Houston. She will discuss how young children learn mathematics, what an effective curriculum in early childhood mathematics should include, and how we assess children's knowledge of the subject.
