Roth Distinguished Professor of German at Georgetown University. Her work focuses on the acquisition of academic literacy in a second language by adult, instructed learners and draws on curricular, pedagogical, and assessment perspectives.

To mark the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Christie Vilsack, Iowa's former first lady, will plant a tree at Iowa State University's Reiman Gardens on Thursday, April 22.
