Neanderthals and Us
Anthropologist David Frayer studies the relationship between Neanderthals and subsequent European populations. He has published on topics ranging from Neanderthal toothpick use to evidence for human massacres in the German Mesolithic to evidence for language origins. He is a professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Kansas. Sigma Xi Lecture Series.

"LEEDing into the Future," Kerry Dixon-Fox, ISU facilities planning and management. The LEED process ensures that buildings are constructed in a sustainable manner. Dixon-Fox will discuss this program in general, and give an in-depth look at how LEED is changing construction at ISU! She will also discuss components such as rain gardens and green roofs, and how to "retrofit" existing buildings.

Human Trafficking in Iowa: A Global Dilemma
Former Iowa Attorney General Bonnie Campbell directed the U.S. Justice Department's Violence Against Women Office as well as the Justice Department's Working Group on Trafficking. She represented the United States in international negotiations on the creation of an International Criminal Court and has been a leading spokesperson on international human rights issues. Tiffany Williams joined the staff of Break The Chain Campaign at the Institute for Policy Studies in November 2008. As a social worker, she coordinated and delivered social services and counseling to domestic workers who were survivors of human trafficking.

Kaffie McCullough works for the Atlanta-based Juvenile Justice Fund as program manager of the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children program. Roxanne Ryan is a senior criminal intelligence analyst with the Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center. Part of the Iowa Conference on Human Trafficking.
