Stop by The Workspace and design a button or magnet with your message of peace, or choose from one of our "create peace" designs. Buttons and magnets are 50 cents each and proceeds will be used toward supplies for our Little Dresses for Africa project.
Tai Chi Class
The class is an introduction to the Yang Style Short Form as taught by Cheng Man-Ch'ing. Learning and doing the Form's movements refresh the spirit and improve balance, posture, flexibility, attitude, confidence and overall health and well-being. Students will also learn some Qigong health exercises. Lloyd has been studying and practicing Yang Style Tai Chi for two decades.
Walk-In Craft: Sun Prints
Sun prints are made on special paper that is light sensitive. Place objects on the paper, expose the materials to the sun and the area exposed to the sun will fade from blue to white. We will have some items from nature (leaves, flowers, etc.) but feel free to bring in your own objects to try.

Workshop: Designing Your Course to Promote Student Success in Blackboard Learn
This workshop will focus on the simple design tricks for your Blackboard Learn course to help your students navigate your course and stay organized. You will also learn how to track the progress of your students in Grade Center using smart views and color coding. You will see a demonstration and become familiar with the logistics of Retention Center.

Embroidered Mandalas Class
Mandalas are symbolic in Hinduism and Buddhism, and are created with geometric shapes incorporating ancient spiritual symbols. The Memorial Union will be hosting Tibetan Monks September 22-25, and they will create a large scale sand mandala on the 2nd floor. Make your own brightly colored mandala while learning embroidery stitches. Use one of our designs, or get inspiration from the Monks and create your own. Finished mandalas can be hung in

Natural Elements in Fine Silver Class
"Paint" metal clay on real leaves, seed pods, or other bit of nature. After firing in the kiln, only beautiful fine silver will be left behind, a lasting representation of a natural element. In the second session, a pendant or earrings will be created from these fine silver pieces.
Training: Sentinel Plant Network First Detector
Reiman Gardens' staff will take you through the initial steps to become a certified First Detector, in the ever-increasing effort to detect and diagnose "high-consequence" plant pests and pathogens, such as the emerald ash borer and the Asian long-horned beetle. Preregistration is highly encouraged; free resource pack for the first 30 to register.
