Democratic candidate for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Francis Thicke owns and operates an organic dairy near Fairfield. Prior to returning to full-time farming in 1992, he served as the National Program Leader for Soil Science for the USDA-Extension Service in Washington, DC. He has also served at the appointment of Iowa governors on the state Environmental Protection Commission. Part of the Iowa State University Campaign 2010 Series.
Chu-Fang Huang Piano Recital
Chinese pianist CHU-FANG HUANG burst onto the concert scene in 2005 as a finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and First Prize winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition, and she will be at Music Hall October 7th!

Fall lab safety summit
The Environmental Health and Safety fall lab safety summit, "Nothing Halts Research Like Combustion," will begin at 7:45 a.m. with refreshments, followed by discussion from 8-9 a.m. Researchers, lab supervisors and personnel, and department heads are encouraged to attend. Tennessee Williams creates an Orpheus who is a wild-spirited young man who plays a guitar. He wanders into small southern town where he discovers he is not the only person who longs for escape and freedom. Warning: Contains offensive language.
