"Create Peace" for 11 Days of Global Unity
For the fifth year, Ames will participate in the 11 Days of Global Unity, a program launched in 2004 as a promotion of peace, justice and environmental sustainability. It seeks to inspire, inform and involve humanity in helping to create a world that works for all.

A Conversation on the National Debt
Erskine Bowles is President Emeritus of the University of North Carolina, where he served as president for five years. He served in the Clinton Administration as director of the Small Business Administration and then as the President's Chief of Staff. Most recently, President Obama appointed him to cochair, with Alan Simpson of Wyoming, a bipartisan national commission on how to improve the country's fiscal health.

Planetarium Show
Are you curious about space? Do you wonder about what you can see in the night sky? If so, bring your questions and come to the ISU Planetarium to learn more. The first show will start at 7:00 pm and is geared toward a younger audience, followed at 7:30 pm by a show for a general audience. Weather permitting a star-gazing session will be held after dark. Free tickets for the shows will be available at the door starting at 6:45 pm.

Tai Chi
Learn the Yang Style Short Form as developed by Cheng Man Ching. The fun, easy-to-learn movements of The Form refresh the spirit and help improve balance, posture, flexibility, confidence, circulation, and overall health and well-being. Students will also learn a few Baqua and Chi Kung health exercises.
Modern Patchwork Wall Art
The craft of patchwork recently exploded and has blown past your local church quilters' circle and into the hands of modern craftsters. Learn scrap stashing, scrap busting, and basic color theory. Finish your work by "framing" it in an embroidery hoops and watch retro meet modern in a new and fun way. Must have basic sewing skills to attend this class.

KURE Concert w/ Cloud Nothings w/ Chomp
January 2011 saw the release of Cloud Nothings' self-titled debut LP, which when put next to Turning On, found Baldi cleaning up his lo-fi aesthetic, pairing his tales of affinitive confusion with a more pristine aural clarity. In the interval since the release of Cloud Nothings, Baldi has toured widely and put a great deal of focus on his live show, a detail that heavily shapes the music of the latest album, Attack on Memory.
