SUB Music: Sidewalk Chalk
Chicago based hip-hop group, Sidewalk Chalk formed in 2008. The group has been praised for their unique blend of hip-hop and jazz. They received "Best Hip-Hop Act in Chicago" in 2010 by the Chicago Reader and released their first full-length album, entitled Corner Store in March of 2012. They're currently working to achieve their goal of being heard by the world and becoming an inspiration for its inhabitants - help them out by coming!

Get Vertical 4-H Adventure Race
Pick your adventure on one of the camp's scenic cross-country race courses. Events include 12K or 4K cross-country races and a 1-mile family fun run/walk. Proceeds support the 4-H summer camp scholarship fund.

Yarn Dyeing
Learn the basics of acid dyeing your own yarn for knitting, crocheting or weaving projects! Participants will be able to choose two skeins of lace (880 yards), fingering (sock) (462 yards), or worsted weight yarn (220 yards). Students can dye both skeins the same for a larger project or dye two unique skeins. Additional yarn will be available for purchase at the time of the class.
Storytime with Chuck
Bring the entire family to the Brunnier Art Museum to hear the exciting tale of Lulu's Magic Wand read by author and illustrator Chuck Richards. Following storytime, children will be invited to complete a scavenger hunt for works of art in the museum.
Argentine Tango Practica
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4- 5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5 - 7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

One Idea, Many Plans: American "Neighborhood Unit" Concept in Independent India
Sanjeev Vidyarthi, assistant professor of urban planning and policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will describe how the American planning idea of the neighborhood unit was institutionalized as the prototypical model for designing residential neighborhoods in independent India, how the concept was transformed and how Indian cities actually developed over time. Bookshelves
Create a ladder rung style bookshelf for using 2 x 4's as the basic building blocks. Beginners will gain confidence in using power tools in the woodshop. More experienced students can work with Dan to go beyond the basics on their project. The Woodshop Orientation class is helpful, but not required for this class.

Graphic Design Lecture: Sol Sender, VSA Partners
Graphic designer and brand strategist Sol Sender, a partner at VSA Partners and founding director of the IBM Design Lab, will discuss his work in the ARTGR 281 Introduction to Visual Communication and Branding class. Sender is best known for creating President Obama's 2008 campaign logo. His lecture is free and open to the public.
