Lipa Festival Concert
"Listening Around : Listening In" is the theme for the 2010 Lipa Festival of Contemporary Music. Guest composer Elainie Lillios will present music created by placing electronic and natural sounds in Ambisonic sound space, surrounding the audience. Sonja Giles will premier "Among Fireflies" by Dr. Lillios. Other works include "Rainsticks" performed by Matthew Coley, vibraphone and electronics.

Blue Sky Day 5K run/walk
Check-in from 9-10 a.m. north of the campanile; preregister online (http://www.firstgiving.com/lsi). Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers at the Homecoming pep rally (Oct. 29).
Iowa Bonsai Society show
Reiman Gardens will again transform into a bit of a Japanese paradise as it hosts the Annual Iowa Fall Bonsai Show. The event feature exhibits, bonsai demonstrations and a Japanese tea ceremony (2 p.m. Saturday). Bonsai equipment will be available for sale.
"Little Dresses for Africa" Work Day
Simple dresses made out of pillow cases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses.
Rent-a-Puppy fund-raiser
Sigma Lambda Gamma sorority fund-raiser. If you miss your pets, are looking to adopt a dog or wish you had a dog but can't, come "rent" and play with a shelter dog within a designated area on the South Campanile lawn for a half hour for only $10. All dogs are from a local animal shelter.
Descarga Salsa Festival
ISU's Descarga Latin Dance Club is hosting the first ever Descarga Salsa Festival featuring San Diego's Anthony Persaud of Addicted2Salsa. Learn to dance or improve the skills; all levels welcome! Five hours of dance workshops (2-7 p.m.) with six guest instructors. The evening social dance (9 p.m-1 a.m.) is free to all attendees.
