Oil Painting Class
Become comfortable using oil paint, and gain confidence in color mixing, composition, and paint application. It is meant for both beginners who have never painted before and more experienced painters who would like to try a new perspective and get a chance to paint with others. Students will share supplies.

CEAH Fellowship: The Roots of American Environmentalism
Matthew Sivils, CEAH fellow, will provide a brief overview of the texts of some of the most influential 18th and 19th century naturalist-explorers, such as Mark Catesby, Alexander Wilson and John James Audubon. The program will be followed by a viewing of rare natural history volumes housed in Special Collections.

"Vaccine Studies to Mitigate Influenza in a Pig Model," Dr. Renukaradhya Gourapura, Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Ohio State University, Wooster, Ohio. Gourapura will discuss the strategies developed to increase the likelihood of cross-protective efficacy of candidate inactivated virus vaccines in a pig model. This is a 6 week course on Mondays March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13, April 20, & April 27 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Learn how to use plants as the subject of art with easy approaches & successive lessons. Learn from artist Megan Henson as you draw from flowers & plants in the classroom, the Hughes Conservatory, & even get inspired by those early spring blooms in outside. Use your drawings for nature journals, hand-made cards, & more.

Feminist Embroidery Class
Celebrate Women's History Month by turning inspiring words into stitched art. Needlework has moved from early samplers and quilting decoration to embellished clothing in the 70's to modern themes by DIY "makers" of today. Use one of our quotes, or bring in your own ideas and learn a couple basic stitches. Finished quotes can be hung in the provided hoops or stitched onto another project. All genders welcome.
