Film screening: An American Ascent
"An American Ascent" is a documentary film about the first African-American expedition to tackle North America's highest peak, Denali. NOLS proudly partnered with a production company in the creation of the film. This documentary was produced with the hopes of addressing the often overlooked issues of race and the outdoors, while chronicling the many challenges of climbing one of the world's most iconic peaks. SHIFT Installation Opening Reception
Opening reception for a design-build installation by the spring 2016 second-year architecture studios. The permanent outdoor public space integrates both seating and places for play at Reliable Street artists' collective in Ames. At night it will be illuminated by an architectural light display powered by a solar-panel system donated by Ames company PowerFilm.

CODAC Spring Sale
Biannual sale of work by students in the integrated studio arts and integrated visual arts programs, sponsored by CODAC (College of Design Art Club). Work this year may include ceramics, prints, photos, jewelry, woods and textiles. Most items will range in price from $5 to $150. The sale continues Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28.

Business Idea Pitch Contest
A Business Idea Pitch Contest will be held simultaneously with the CHS Entrepreneurship Showcase in 0001 MacKay Hall. All College of Human Sciences undergraduate and graduate students with an innovative business idea are welcome to present a 90-second pitch to industry professionals, get tips and suggestions on their business idea, and enter the contest to win cash prizes ranging from $50 to $100.
