Pass/Not Pass Deadline: Fall 2014
Last day to change a full-semester or first half-semester course from Pass/Not Pass to grade basis without it counting toward total allowable P/NP credits used for graduation.
Tuition and Fee Adjustment
Last day to receive a tuition and fee adjustment for full-semester courses when dropping below full-time status. No refunds for full-semester courses after day 10 of the semester.
Training: "How to Write a P&S Position Description"
University human resources is offering training on "How to Write a Professional and Scientific Position Description" in conjunction with the new PeopleAdmin 7 system training. Anyone who writes or assists with writing position descriptions is encouraged to attend. Training is offered weekly beginning Aug. 26 through Nov. 24. To register, go to AccessPlus (Employee tab > UHR Training) and choose the class you wish to attend.
Osborn Club Lecture
"Carbocatalysts: A Bottom-up Approach to Catalyst Design," presented by Jean-Philippe Tessonnier, assistant professor of chemical and biological engineering and the Carol and Jack Johnson Faculty Fellow.
Screenprinting Class
Learn an inexpensive way to create custom t-shirts. Using your own design, learn to make a screen with the photographic emulsion method. Bring in your shirts and print away! This class is required in order to use our screenprinting equipment.

Meeting: Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State University and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public.
Engineering Study and Work Abroad Fair
"Tour The World." Information booths for more than 30 international programs will be represented by faculty coordinators and students to promote international opportunities for engineering students.
Ballroom dance class
Intermediate American ballroom classes meet once weekly for 11 weeks. Previous ballroom dance experience is required, but no partner is needed.
Smashed Button Necklace Class
Upcycle vintage buttons and maybe get a little aggression out at the same time! Students will hammer metal buttons into new forms. Add texture and patina and get a collection of beautifully imperfect charms. Stack for depth, rivet together, and add them onto a chain for swanky necklace.
Beginning social dance class
Beginning social ballroom dance lessons, hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Class meets once weekly for 11 weeks. No partner required.

Hammer copper tubing into hoop earrings, and experiment with patina techniques for varied finishes. Add silver ear wires and leave class with three new pairs of earrings to add to your jewelry box.
Concert: From Indian Lakes
Indie rock artists From Indian Lakes released their debut album, The Man With Wooden Legs in 2009 and quickly followed that up with a fan favorite, Acoustic EP. After a few years of writing, touring, and building their fan base, they released Able Bodies in late 2012. The album took the music scene by storm and remains in high acclaim by countless sites, magazines, blogs, and of course, their fans.
