P.H. Elwood Lecture in Landscape Architecture

Global Food Security Consortium and Everson Seed and Biosafety Symposium
"REAL Sustainability: Real Engagement in Agricultural Livelihoods." International experts will discuss the components necessary for addressing global food and nutrition security. The symposium will offer three sessions: Developing Research Platforms for Sustainable Food Systems; Educating the Workforce for a Dynamic Industry; and Building Capacity through Public-Private Partnerships.
Workshop: Civility in the Workplace
Few would argue that our society has become less civil, and the workplace is no exception. Today we can observe a continuum of behaviors and actions that include rude and discourteous behavior, electronic incivility and even "cybermobbing." Cyclone Voice is a singing competition that highlights the vocal talents of Iowa State students. This year's finale host will be singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney. Musical: The Secret Garden
Mary Lennox's her parents die in a cholera epidemic and she is sent to live in Yorkshire with relatives she has never met. She is unhappy with everything about her. Then, shortly after she arrives, she notices a vine covered wall which surrounds a secret garden. A bird helps her find the key to the door and the next day she discovers the door itself hidden behind the overgrowth. She pushes open the door and her life begins to change.
