Iowa Museum Week June 11-17

On June 7th Iowa Governor Terry Branstad will proclaim June 11-17, 2012 as Iowa Museum Week. During this week, Iowa's museums, including ISU's University Museums, will raise awareness of their programs and celebrate what makes them unique community assets. Iowa's ninety-nine counties are home to hundreds of museums as well as to major regional collections.Cost: Free and open to all ages
Workshop: Engaging K-12 students in STEM with technology

"Engaging Your Students in STEM with Technology Using Models," with Rob Klienow and Les Miller. In this two-day workshop, participants will gain an understanding of how to use modeling with current concepts, regardless of content area. William Tishler has been involved in the design and planning of the Jens Jensen Prairie Landscape Park at The Danish Immigrant Museum in Elk Horn, Iowa, and is emeritus professor of landscape architecture at the University of Wisconsin. This program is presented in partnership with The Danish Immigrant Museum, which this year will be exploring the life, career, and ongoing legacy of landscape architect Jens Jensen (1860-1951).Cost: free
