Teal Wheels: Biking for Tikes
Dance Marathon will host an 8-mile fun bike ride through campus and the Ames community, bike decorating and an exciting tricycle race. Anyone is welcome to participate. For more information about the event and to register visit http://dm.stuorg.iastate.edu. Proceeds benefit the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses. From cutting fabric and ironing to sewing, there is a place for anyone who has an hour or two to spare.

20th Anniversary Celebration
Anniversary cake, specialty ice cream made by the ISU Dairy Science Club, and other refreshments will be served with remarks by Elizabeth Hoffman, former ISU executive vice president and provost, and a performance by the Yellow Rose of Suffrage singers. The Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics was founded on Sept. 23, 1992, with approval of the Iowa Board of Regents. In 2012, the Catt Center is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Argentine Tango Practica
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4- 5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5 - 7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Documentary and Discussion: Sun Come Up
"Sun Come Up" is an Academy Award-nominated film that shows the human face of climate change. It follows the relocation of the Carteret Islanders, a community living on a remote island chain in the South Pacific Ocean that is threatened by rising sea levels. Mark Stoltenberg is back to teach a four part workshop covering the basics of macro flower and insect photography. Topics include equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject, and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students, and review of the images taken.

If you enjoy making your own jewelry making custom jump rings and clasps will bring your pieces to a new level. Terrie will share lots of designs and styles and will guide you in tool use. Bring your stash of beads to class with you.
