Planetarium Show
Are you curious about space? Do you wonder about what you can see in the night sky? If so, bring your questions and come to the ISU Planetarium to learn more. The first show, starting at 6:30 p.m. will be 20 minutes and for kids. Shows at 7 and 7:30 p.m. and are suitable for all ages. Tickets will be available at the door starting at 6:15 p.m. Seating is limited. Weather permitting there will be an outdoor observing session after the last show.

Film Screening "Growing Cities"
In their search for answers, filmmakers Dan Susman and Andrew Monbouquette take a road trip and meet the men and women who are challenging the way this country grows and distributes its food, one vacant city lot, rooftop garden, and backyard chicken coop at a time. Join them as they discover that good food isn't the only crop these urban visionaries are harvesting. They're producing stronger and more vibrant communities, too.

Noche de Cultura showcases Latino culture with food and performances as the closing event for Latino Heritage Month. Latino Heritage Month promotes cultural awareness within the ISU and Ames community. It also allows our members to promote a level of political, social, cultural and ethnic awareness. Tyler Hilton released his debut album, The Tracks of Tyler Hilton, the same year of his acting debut as Chris Keller on the 2nd season of One Tree Hill. Other acting roles followed, including as Elvis Presley in the acclaimed Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. He eventually returned to music with the 2012 release of Forget the Storm, which hit #2 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums

Spirits in the Gardens
Scare is in the air as Reiman Gardens' Spirits in the Gardens event returns on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to join in the spooky fun by attending in costume.

Meet a kestrel bird and put your crafting skills to use! Help out wildlife rehabilitators and learn about some of Iowa's coolest birds while making leather and nylon jesses and other items used for SOAR's Education Ambassadors.

This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5-7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Class: Beginner Photography
This is a four part course on Tuesdays, October 7, October 14, October 21, and October 28 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This four-part workshop will cover the basics of photography including equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students and review of the images taken.
