NOMAS Flowergram Fundraiser
The Iowa State chapter of NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students) will sell flowergrams to raise funds for students to attend the 2018 NOMA Conference in Chicago in October. Flowergrams include a red or white carnation, chocolate and a personally-chosen poem. Cost is $3 for one flowergram or $5 for two. Flowergrams will be available Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Neyran Turan, an assistant professor of architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, and a partner in NEMESTUDIO, will present her research and current work related to climate change, resource extraction, materiality and waste.

Lecture: Sustainable Neighborhoods for Happiness
Scott Cloutier, assistant professor and senior sustainability scientist at Arizona State University, and PhD student Beth Ann Morrison, who works with Cloutier to establish the Happiness and Sustainability Research Lab at ASU, will introduce the Sustainable Neighborhoods for Happiness Index and a process to assess and enhance a neighborhood's opportunities for happiness through sustainable design.
