Performance: It's a Wonderful Life, A Live Radio Play
This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, complete with a live sound effects artist, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he contemplates his mortality on fateful Christmas Eve.
Mass Design in the Mid-Century
Post World War II was a time of great prosperity and idealism in America, as the middle class grew in numbers and in strength financially. As a suburban lifestyle developed, consumerism sky rocketed. The demand for novelty and a significantly larger consuming population led to uniquely American designs, both good and bad but iconic of mass design in the 1950s to 1960s.
